Financial Aid

LACM’s goal is to provide quality support to all our students and parents needing Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Office administers various federal, and institutional aid programs to help LACM’s students finance their education.

Scholarship

LACM is excited to offer scholarships to our well-deserving applicants. Students must demonstrate exceptional musical potential as determined by our Scholarship Committee and awards are based upon a variety of factors including audition material and academic history.

Need- Based Grant

Los Angeles College of Music’s (LACM) Need-Based Student Grants are a partial tuition grant for students based on demonstrated financial need.


Financial Aid

Before considering Federal Financial Aid you must be the following:

  • U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens
  • Enrolled in one of the LACM approved programs
  • Not been previously defaulted on student loans
  • Exceeded their annual and/or aggregate student loan limits for a particular award year.
  • Valid Social Security Number
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Requirements for the Federal Financial Aid include:

  • Males between the ages of 18 and 26 must be registered with Selective Service
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress while attending LACM
  • Satisfactory repayment status of prior Federal student loans
  • Satisfactory payment arrangements of prior Federal grant overpayments

Request FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Application

  • Complete the FAFSA Application www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • In order to submit your application online, you must first apply for a PIN to use as your electronic signature (parents of dependent students must also apply for a PIN).
  • Once you have received your PIN, return to the website to complete your FAFSA and make sure to enter LACM’s School Code: 038684.

The Financial Aid Director is available to meet one-on-one to examine each individual situation, and help to generate ideas or the best funding solution for students and their families.

Scholarships

Incoming applicants must submit an additional essay as part of their online application process. LACM also provides scholarship opportunities for current students who wish to continue their education with our college as they transition into their later quarters of study in the Bachelor degree program.

Need-based Grants

Los Angeles College of Music’s (LACM) Need-Based Student Grants are a partial tuition grant for students based on demonstrated financial need.

Requirements for Grant

  • Applicants must maintain GPA standards
  • Meet all financial need eligibility requirements
  • Applicants will be notified by email regarding the grant committee’s decision, all decisions are final
  • Only complete applications, including complete financial information, will be considered for an Institutional Grant
  • Will be accepted up to 4 weeks before a quarter’s start date. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as funds are limited
